What is webmail?
Web mail is one of the most useful web applications on the Internet, it allows you to access, send, receive and manage your email through a web browser. The great part of web mail is that you can access your email from almost any computer around the world, as long as it has an Internet connection and web browser. Webmail is also very useful if your mail client is not sending or receiving and you are trying to get in touch with blue earth support!
What is the difference between my blue-earth POP3 email account and my Web Mail account?
Web Mail provides another way to access your existing domain email account (you@blue-earth.co.uk). You can send and receive email through your desktop email client application (such as Microsoft Outlook or Entourage Apple Mail) as well as on a web browser with Web Mail. Your desktop email application will automatically download your email via the Post Office Protocol (POP3) email protocol when you login to it. Web Mail uses the HyperText Transport Protocol (HTTP) protocol, the same protocol used for the World Wide Web to display web pages, to provide access to your domain email account through your web browser. Web Mail is server-based and allows you to store and retrieve email directly from the server. Your domain email account username and password are used to login to both your desktop email application as well as Web Mail.
How do I use it with a blue-earth.co.uk e-mail address?
Simply click on this link ---> WEBMAIL <--- then enter your full e-mail address and password. This will bring you to the blue-earth webmail service page. From here you can change your password, set up forwarding, auto response messages [for when you are out of the office], automatically configure you mail client [mac or pc], and set up anti spam software.
You have a choice of two web mail formats, SquirrelMail or Horde. It’s a personal choice, although we prefer SquirrelMail. Once you have chosen and then clicked the relevant icon, you will see your mail and be able to read, write and respond to mail messages. Once you get home to your home/office computer you will be able to download the mail as well.
How do I use it for my domain?
This is the same as above except the URL will be www.example.com. Then enter your email address and password and thats it.
